Sam joined Brentwood cricket club in 2009 and I instantly liked everything about him . He was a very talented cricketer with an incredible desire to win . He was tough , flinty and never gave up even when game situations looked bleak . Sam would be in the very top bracket of men you would want in your team . The best thing about Sam was his self deprecating humour , he never took himself too seriously, he was humble , kind , polite , generous and great fun to be around on any social occasion. I was also very lucky to do lots of coaching with Sam and the kids thought he was great , I also thought that about Sam . I’ll miss you mate , rest in peace Sam , love from Ben , Katie , John and Sophie Cocklin xxxx
